In what might initially feel like something from a futuristic sci-fi movie, Azzurri Group are trialling robot servicing technology at their Zizzi Westfield White City site.

The robots - which you can see here - help to deliver food to diners while also removing any dirty dishes at the end of the meal. The robots are also being used to help with click-and-collect orders from the site.

Similar technology was trialled by Trail customers Big Table Group and the Boparan Restaurant Group earlier this year, working in partnership with Pudu Robotics who provide the technology. Lisa Gibbons, the Chief Operating Office of Bella Italia (Big Table Group) commented “by having intelligent robots conduct simple tasks, such as retrieving dirty dishes, our teams are able to focus on doing what they love and delivering an amazing experience”.

In a time when the hospitality industry struggles with staff shortages and rising costs, if these sorts of trials go well we’re likely to see more of these little robots in venues across the country.
